Rocky Fisher
Rocky grew up with a musical family surrounded by instruments and a recording studio, learning to play piano at an early age and engaging in choral singing. After a brief foray as a rapper/singer going as Motion Red (Y'all may remember if you were on the Commercial Drive tip of thangs year 2002+) Rocky entered the world of djing and electronic music after living with Dan Solo (of Shambhala fame). Making mashups and live remixing, Rocky weaves the grimiest of beats and a wide breadth of genres. Moombacore, Electro, Midtempo, Drumstep, Dubstep and drum and Bass. Basically if it is grimy as fuck Rocky is playing it. Known for her thomping beats and heavy basslines, Rocky's shows are sure to please. Rocky has played with such names as Glitchy & Scratchy, Dangamouse, Myles Away, Dan Snakehead, Aristotle Punk, Shamanoid, Dj Xclaim, and more and enjoys playing Epic Thursdays at Club 23 as well as other BC festivals, parties and events.

Dan Snakehead
http://soundcloud.com/
Dan Snakehead has been performing for 13 years. He is a certified Rhythm Institute DJ (now school of remix) professionally trained under DJ Marvel in 2004. He is a night club, after hours, rave, house party, and a major international event DJ that competed in the World Dj Mix Championships by invite aka the DMC’s (Whistler ’05 and Victoria ’05, ’06 placing in all three events).
www.thedjlist.com (the worlds largest DJ directory) currently ranks him in the top 20 in Vancouver, and top 100 Canada.
Dan Snakehead discovered his passion for electronic music in 1999 and started organizing electronic music events in 2001. As an amateur, it was hard for him to find work other than spur of the moment house parties or volunteer events that only paid in exposure. He has since played thousands of events from house parties and night clubs to the biggest events the world has to offer (Shambhala & Burning Man) and it shows. He has come up the hard way and paid his dues.
He can play anything with blatant skills and eats genres like cereal but prefers Electronica. Starting out with trance influences and loving how emotional digital music could be, in 2003 he found his passion grow even larger with the discovery of dirty electro allowing him to bring his more intense and abrasive roots to the rave scene. Expanding into breaks, drum & bass, and hip hop in 2006, after mastering everything progressive, there was no where left to go other than the broken beat format. In early 2009 Snakehead was introduced to dubstep and did he ever sink his teeth in. The “Dirty Step Fodder” series remains the longest running dubstep demo series by a DJ to this day. In only 2 and a half years Dan Snakehead has compiled (and continues to compile) 17 liquid dubstep demos. He is currently the only full length drum & bass set on Galaxie satellite radio eclectic electronic with a listener base of millions. Commonly a year to three ahead of the industry, Snakehead still struggles to find the middle ground between his passion and the floor to this day. His latest opus being undertaking the rarely known “Moombahcore”.
He plays other stuff; Speed Garage, Rock, Metal, Retro, Electro Swing, Rotterdam, Celtic fusion and of course, Scratch (the guy has invented scratch techniques). He is trained to play on anything : turn tables, CD decks, his laptop, even
DVD players or cassette players, he’s so versatile, it’s sick. He is constantly checking obscure charts and researching online so that he always has the
freshest tracks. His creativity shines through in his mixes and his microphone skills, to say he can get a crowd going is an understatement. Interactivity with the crowd just one of a wide variety of skill sets that Snakehead possesses that seem to have been lost in the industrial rat race.
In September of 2002 he founded an independent non-profit organization called “Last Minute Productions” dedicated to fund raising for local charities and youth crime prevention in his home town community (Salt Spring Island). Charities in his community like his local youth center, high school, and skate Park are on the recipient list. Last Minute Productions is still a well respected, functioning, non-profit organization in his home town community to this day with a small group of very dedicated volunteers (reference Nathan Valcourt P.R. 250-221-0871).
The last charitable events he was involved with “Shake it for the Quake” which raised thousands for the Haitian Relief Foundation. That show domino-ed into more events including shake it for the quake 2 which again raised thousands for Japan. More shows for breast cancer research, disabled kids camps, Easter seals, and other fantastic causes followed suit shortly after promoters realized he was willing to go out of his way for the right charities, see Erotica Electronica and The Frightmare before Christmas.

“I have had horrid luck with regards to finding good placement agents, promoters, or really any kind of mutually beneficial situation to settle into” says Dan. “But you can’t give up, you just keep trying. After all, success only come to those who never give up on their dreams, right?” This dedicated dj’s dream is of regularly performing at stadium sized events. After the Sound Clash of the Titans series (an ongoing massive), this dj’s roster continues to build momentum serious momentum. Though big shows are his dream, he says he “will always crave the intimacy and sense of family with performing at smaller venues”. Dan Snakehead has many unmentioned short term residencies under his belt, all of which have ended on good terms, but is still looking for the ideal sustainable, stable, situation in an ever fluctuating world.

Viva Vancouver "Lunch Meet" with Rocky Fisher
From VanCity Buzz: "Lunch Meet has been going on for a couple of weeks now and seems to be growing in popularity. Taking the long table concept to the extreme, this collaboration between the Vancouver Public Space Network, Space2Place and the City of Vancouver’s Viva Vancouver initiative takes place every Thursday in July on the 300-block of Abbott Street.
http://www.vancitybuzz.com/2012/07/lunch-meet-long-table-on-abbott-street/Following two successful weeks of noon-time outdoor dining, the third installment of LUNCH MEET is set to be bigger than ever. We’ve added more tables and chairs to feed the need of the hungry lunch time crowd, as many have taken advantage of the unique communal quality of the Long Table to make new friends, discuss work projects, or just bask in the hot sun.
